The Walpole Mini Open fundraiser on Sunday, February 14th was a huge success! Just under $2,000 was raised which will go directly to the new library's building fund.Over 300 people came through the doors in 4 hours to support the new library. Kids, parents, and grandparents were all smiles and laughter for the exciting day of playing mini golf in the winter and IN the library! Players had to maneuver around the challenging course which included monster jam trucks, Peter Rabbit, robotic gates, a twisty cliff, a flashing disco ball, Legos, and even a cow!Special thanks are offered to our Community Partners - Funway USA, Sunlight Publications, Roche Brothers and many others who donated raffle items. A big thanks to all of the volunteers for dedicating time before and during the event to make it run smoothly, with special mention to Jerry Keohane for his end-to-end set up and clean up support. Thanks are also extended to Superintendent Lincoln Lynch for enabling us to include participation from each of the Walpole Public Schools and Interim Blessed Sacrament Principal, Nancy Carroll for BSS participation. The course layout was designed by Luke and Jim Rudolph. The holes were designed by WHS and Fisher students with the Tomasetti family; Bird and Johnson Middle School Girl Scout Troop with the Culhane family; BSS Robotics Club with the McGovern & Folwell families; Fisher families with the McKinneys, Foleys, Donoians, Rudolphs, and Richardsons; Elm Street with the McLellans; OPR with the Ruda and Sandquist families; the Boyden Girl Scout Troop with the Anglin family; and former Library Director, Jerry Romelczyk.
